Welcome to the Canada Science and Technology Museum Consultations

The Canada Science and Technology Museum is the only national comprehensive science and technology museum in the country. It has embarked on a cross-Canada consultation to seek national partners and to ask Canadians their point of view and ideas on creating a new, state-of-the art science and technology museum that reflects the importance of science and technology to our country’s past, present and future. This web site provides information about our plans and more importantly, solicits your feedback. Look around the web site and tell us your ideas.

Science and technology directly impacts 35% of jobs in Canada. We need to continue to develop creativity, innovation and curiosity in the minds of Canadians and in particular young Canadians. We must encourage them to pursue careers in science and technology in order to successfully fulfill the jobs of tomorrow.

The 21st century will be reshaped by new and emerging technologies and by companies that invest in them. This means we must create the conditions for all Canadians to better understand the importance of science and technology in Canada’s heritage, and to be inspired and equipped to innovate in the future.

This is why it is vital to bring the stories of achievement and excellence in science and technology from all regions of our nation into our museum and into communities across Canada.

After over 40 years in temporary accommodations, the Canada Science and Technology Museum, with its unique collection of a million objects including artifacts, photographs and archival material, now needs to find a new home and expand its reach across the country.

Tell us what you think about our plans.
